Camera Problem.

So I got a digital camera the other day, (SQ908 Mega-Cam 2.1 Megapixel) but I'm already having some problems with it. The problem is whenever I plug it into any of my usb ports I get a pop up saying that the device is not recognized and has malfunctioned. Installation of the camera went fine as far as I can tell, so I did some google work and read that the problem has to do with Windows XP. I read that disabling the usb root hub's option to turn off in the device manager would solve the problem. It sort of worked, but only if the camera is already connected to the computer AND I shut off the main supply to the computer and restart everything. Can anyone give me some suggestions? Sorry for the long post.

You could get a card reader and just use that instead.

Thanks haumovie, I'm thinking that it could just be a usb cable problem. I have another around here somewhere, if I could just find that I think I might be in business.
