New Battle

I am holding a head to head photoshop tennis battle over at my other forum, It is starring Pieter Kok (me) and a friend of mine Tony Tran. It will also feature a new round every seven days (or less). Check it out and let me know what you think, I am open to ideas about my entries and the battle in general, so please don't hesitate to speak up.

Note: Link to another forum where battle is being held

Well, I'm showcasing my work, what else should it go in? Its digital graphics, what else should it go in? If there is a better one then a mod is welcome to move it. Anyway, I take pride and enjoyment in battles, when I get my site up you will be able to browse through all of the previous battles we have held, view all the submissions and much more. I realized that I forgot to mention that my name over there is Winged Productions, again I would love to hear some comments on this one.

A Battle eh!.....first of all, I am the same as daydreamer...not to keen on Battles...
And second...the battle is held over at another forum.....it would be different if you had Image links, but your link takes us to this other forum- this can be seen as sneaky spamming !!.........I was going to close this thread, but we will see what other mods think !!

I posted the link so you could view it with out me having to update it everytime we finish another round, and for constructive criticism. I don't want you to join that forum, in fact I would advise against it I don't want to go into detail as of why, but know that this is not advertising for BlueSfear. I am not trying to promote another forum nor service, I am trying to promote my humble talent and hopefully generate some feedback.

Thanks for understanding.

I certainly see your point Scotty, but given the evidence here, I think I have to believe Pieter when he says he wasn't spamming. There does exist a thread containing a Photoshop battle in which he's a participant. Plus, Pieter currently has 138 posts here at SDC. He has hung around and contributed with some helpful, albeit occasionally controversial, crits and comments. But the point is, he has been around a while and he has contributed.
Plus, he's one of my only worthy adversaries in political debates, so he forces me to keep my intellect sharp.

Believe me Scotty, I'm right there with you keeping an eye on spamming. But in this case, I think the evidence supports Pieter's assertion that he's simply showing us his digital artwork.

No biggie Scotty my friend. Thanks for being vigilant. Hey... with you and me watching these posts, at least we can be sure that there will never be any Viagra threads here at SDC!

Now, to get Pieter's thread back on topic:

Pieter,
Your Round 1 piece: Pretty cool. I like the blending and the gradient effect in the background. And the leaves are an interesting touch. Good job.

Your Round 3 piece: Definitely my favorite. I'm not to keen on the large "3", but if you had to add type to this piece, say for a magazine ad, then I think the way you did it does work. I absolutely love the "smeary", almost "water-media" look of the digital paint. It's also nice the way you go across the spectrum to create the rainbow look. I also love the way that the piece has a "tornado" effect, with the point disappearing into horizon line. Excellent job!

Thanks for the comments Jeff, Round two is my opponent/collaborator's piece in response to round one, and Round three is my response to his (to mine ).

I changed the typography on the round three, normally you don't have the chance to make changes in a battle but he asked if I was done, so I switched it to somthing I liked a little more. Again, thanks for the comments.

Sorry dude, I typed "Round 2" in my last post when I actually meant to type "Round 3". Corrected.

Pretty decent work there. I don't really care for the first image but the second and thirth are nice. The thirth is yours so i'll elaborate. I love the colours and the smudgy look. I dislike the stars tho. The big stars that are clearly visible could have been handled better.. Overall a good job

ps : Does it say "staring Pieter kok and..." on round 1 ? My english isn't all that but isn't it supposed to be starring ?

Your right, I missed spelled that, I feel better that he didn't correct it though .
The 'stars' are flowers from the previous piece, I didn't take the time to edit them out, I just used them as part of mine. I felt that I would be sticking to the rules better if I used some more recognizable parts rather than extracting the rainbow (I probably could have gotten away with it but I decided it wasn't worth the effort.)
Thanks for the comments.

Would anyone be interested in doing a commentary on this battle, I would like to have at least a few sentences about each round. This is for the battle page I will post this battle on my website and you will of course be given credit.
