What does the SDC Crew think of this lens?
Nikon ED, AF Nikkor 70-300mm 1:4-5.6D (http://www.bhphotovideo.com/bnh/controller/home?O=productlist&A=details&Q=&sku=149607&is=USA&addedTroughType=search)
A buddy of mine suggested this lens (http://www.bhphotovideo.com/bnh/controller/home?O=productlist&A=details&Q=&sku=363593&is=REG&addedTroughType=search#). Here were his comments:
The 70-300 is a decent lens, but keep in mind, it is strictly telephoto. No up close stuff. No wide angle shots. Minimal focal distance of 5 feet. It is dedicated to distance. Ok lens if all you want to shoot is wildlife??? I would check out the 18-200 instead. If you wanted greater distance then buy a teleconverter (1.4x or 2.0x). I also saw that they are making an 18-200 version w/ macro. Check it out. http://www.bhphotovideo.com/bnh/controller/home?O=productlist&A=details&Q=&sku=363593&is=REG&addedTroughType
