Got a new toy today: Vocaloid. It's a pretty amazing piece of software that realistically simulates either male or female vocals, depending on what software package you get. You can also have the digital singers sing words, take breaths, etc.

Anyway, here's my first test of the software:

I probably won't do anything more with this track, since it's just a test, but I will be using it in the near future.

Man that is fricken unbelievable.

I love that tune and the vocals are awesome, and Ialso love the first song in that list "herothemetest" I want the whole song!

I LOVE that stuff....

You must share more of this stuff ;)

I must agree...totally awesome.....I listened to them all.
I have a Zoom Rhythmtrak 234 at home and it gives me the Drums/percussion and Bass to add to the songs I write with my Yamaha Accoustic guitar, along with my vocals......but your wee toy is some thing else.......
Imagine what those well known recording studios are using to get that perfect song and perfect number one eh!

These are class!

May I ask how much the program costed? I have been looking for this type of program for a long time. I have been wanting to create vocals to add to my DJ sets for a long time..

Thanks guys! When I get my site back up there will be much more to hear!

Hazley - About $400, but it's soooooooooo worth it for what it does. There are going to be more singers released in the future, such as a celtic voice and a bubbly Japanese pop singer.

Also, if you guys wanna know what I use as my main program, it's called Buzz. It's free and you can grab it at www.buzzmachines.com. It just has a horrid learning curve, but it's definitely top notch. I also use various soundfonts for my orch stuff and my friend is going to hook me up with a $6000 gigasample set soon that Hans Zimmer uses and I think one of the violins was used for the Max Payne 2 theme.

I am terrible with creating music stuff..give me photoshop and feel at home, but I tried playing around with Reason and got lost within 5 minutes. I guess the propellerheads created Reason or Rebirth or whatever....

Dont know how well it rates compared to the stuff you use however.

Reason is pretty cool/good, it's what I would recommend as an alternative to Buzz for those that find the visual rack effects/synths easier to work with.

Just a cool little feature for Buzz: it comes with a plugin called "Rewire" that lets you control Reason through Buzz. :)
