I can't find a previous discussion about this, so please forgive me if I'm just bringing it all up again. Anyhow, I know that in order to publish photos of people we must obtain a model release, but what about public sites such as city/state parks or the office building where I work or any other buildings for that matter? Any good websites where I can find out about this stuff?

If it is an (easily) identifyable or unique, building or object then you need a release. I'm not sure about government property, it probably depends on subject.
If you have, say lots of buildings, in the picture as opposed to one particular building, or if the building is not identifyable (close-up/macro)then you are ok.
As long as you don't work in the Trump Towers or the Belagio you should be ok.
