Not really keen on the background at all....but I see what you were going for.

I like the color choices on the dress, but the rendering style is a bit too 'airbrushy' for my taste.

Some points to consider:

the 'planes' of the metal object are in this rendering somewhat flat, but the drawing shows that there would be more 'dimension' in the back pack and the helmet. Try to visualize how they would reflect light etc...high points on metal are often very specular (high-or bright but small).

I am sure EraserX would have some more valuable input to give however.
