Im looking for a good digital camera, currently I have the Canon Powershot A85, but I feel that it could be better at capturing details and colors and light etc, the zoom function is nice though, 3x optical 11x digital.. What are some good digital cameras?

Moved to Photo Techniques...

It depends what your requirements are and what sort of budget you have.

There's a fairly wide variety of high-end digital consumer cameras at the moment.
If you are looking for as much control as possible you should go for an slr.
D70 (http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/specs/Nikon/nikon_d70s.asp) and EOS 350d (http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/specs/Canon/canon_eos350d.asp) are both good cameras for a reasonable price, and both have a vast portfolio of accessories.

If you are looking for a digicam then the Canon Powershot S2 IS is pretty good though "only" 5MP.

I am on the same boat folo. I have been thinking about upgrading my digital camera from Canon Powershot S50. I may end up what Haumovie recommended.

Like haumovie said, "It depends what your requirements are and what sort of budget you have."

Some questions you should ask yourself first, What are you taking pics for? The internet? For Print(if so how big of prints do you want). Camera wise you want somthing bulky? (though might have no option if you want more quality). Lens wise, would u like somthing changable, or somthing fixed in. Options (you want more manual settings).

Haumovie is correct. You must ask yourself what you will be mainly using the camera for. I recently bought a Nikon S2 for my "snapshots" and such. It's small and takes good pics. It's perfect for travelling.

For my more artistic shots in which I want more control, I have a Nikon F80. Hopefully, I will get a D70 in the fall since my F80 accessories will cross over.
