...according to a survey by Rolling Stone magazine. If you pass this link (http://www.rhino.com/rs500/) around the office, you'll be discussing and debating it with your co-workers forever. Lots of fun actually. :)
(My questionable entry: Marvin Gaye #6 ??!!)

Wow Steel... you really have ecclectic musical tastes. Either that, or you're really young (post "jealousy" smilie here). A lot of the top fifty have band members over fifty!

Thanks for posting that, quite an interesting read (though I didn't get all the way to the end).
I didn't think Public Enemy would be so high in the list compared to some other bands but thats cool.

The musical tastes i have now are due to Pink Floyd. Believe it or not they were the catalyst for me to get into ambient, and progressive trance...that and Enigma. I tend to be more of a 'lounge' and 'electonic' music lover as opposed the the top 40 type stuff. I havent listened to a Radio by choice in over 7 years.
:)
I aint that young at least according to a few members here. (I am 32-33, I havent figured it out exactly and dont really want to know for sure)

Well he's not young so he must have eccletic taste.
I was going to comment before that I didn't see any/much trance in there. :cheeky:
I actually have quite a few of those album in my playlist. I don't know if I should be scared by that or not.

It Takes a Nation of Millions to Hold Us Back
Public Enemy
I bought that tape and wore it out twice, then I bought the CD. I lost it, I think I might buy it again.

OK Computer
Radiohead
162? This should be in the top 50 I think.

Wish You Were Here
Pink Floyd
This beats out dark side of the moon IMO
well there are other issues I have with this, like there being two james brown greatest hits albums. I like james brown, but why put both the box set and the greatest hits. It doesn't make sense. Overall though, I think they did a fairly good job at covering the spectrum of music out there. it's not my top 500, but i wouldn't argue if someone gave me all those cd's, and I'd probably listen to tehm all from time to time. I'm suprised at how many of them I've heard.

Agreed. (Not only the top 50, I think it should be in the top 25-30.)
