Well I plan on having an annual award for the members here at the forum. The suggestion was brought up by our moderator team and we are now looking in how to best facilitate this.

What I propose is to have nominees for the following categories:

1. Illustrator of the year (Natural media, or digital media)
2. Digital Artist of the year (Photomanipulations, etc)
3. Photographer of the year (digital or otherwise, but limited manipulation)
4. Graphic Designer of the Year (web, print, etc)
5. Most improved artist of the year

The awards are only available to members of this forum.

The leaders and I will establish a list of nominees for the categories (and please be aware that these categories will problably change this is only a rough framework at this time).

After this is done I will publish a post or site where members can go and register their votes for the nominees (I will have to work out the details as to how this will be carried out to prevent voting fraud, etc but I am not to concerned about it at this time)

The votes will be tallied and each category will have a Gold Award, a Runner Up and an Honorable mention.

I plan on having real prizes for the first place winners, but what those are I cant tell you at this time. I will post more on the subject as it goes along.

Anyways I wanted to post this news up for now to get your reactions and feedback as now is the time if anyone has any ideas or helpful suggestions.

I like the idea and I will defonatly participate in the voting proces. And perhaps in a few years i'll swipe an award. Get some golden statues to mail to the winners :dub:

There may not be a voting process this year. We have already selected the nominees, and I will be posting them soon.

I think though that I will elect a panel of qualified judges to choose the winners of the categories.

Sounds like a great idea. Gives those of us who don't post work (especially myself) even more incentive to take a more active role in the community. Can't wait to see the results.
