there are lots of different counters, but they all look corney and amateurish. If you really want one, try hotscripts.com.

If you really want to be informed of what kind of traffic you are getting, analyze your log files. Ask your host about where to find them. They may already have a log file analyzer in place. If not, I recommend awstats.
