EXIF display with PHP -
I've been wanting to modify the photo galley, that I'm using right now ( save the gummy bears :) ), so it would display EXIF info with the image.
I've been trying to write a small script myself but I have failed at that.
I've also looked at some scripts online but none of them actually worked either.
So, if you know of a good tutorial on how to write this or have one yourself. please be kind and share. I don't need anything special just like on DA, display ISO, f/, shutter and date.
:grinning:

sounds like something that would be handy :)

It sure would be.
I'm not sure if it would work with this gallery but I'd like to try.
Maybe we can make it a team effort ;)

I don't know much about PHP either but I'm trying.
Would anyone try this on your server since, I think, my host doesn't have exif_read_data() configured:
<?php
echo "test.jpg:<br />\n";
$exif = exif_read_data('test.jpg', 'IFD0');
echo $exif===false ? "No header data found.<br />\n" : "Image contains headers<br />";
If you don't have an image with EXIF info you can use this one (http://www.fotografika5000.com/1.jpg)

OK I got it to work.
I found that save for web strips the images of the EXIF info, you have to save as jpg instead.
This is the info it shows when I change all the file input tags to the same file name (beer.jpg). It doesn't display any of the actual camera data like ISO, lens and such.
That should answer your question.
That photo I provided was recorded in JPG.
After I'm done with it in PS I just do Save.
That way all of the info stays in tact. And if I want to get ridd of all the info I do Save For Web.
Also, if you ever try to submit a photo to photo.net make sure that you strip all EXIF from it. Otherwise upload will fail.

Yeah I was aware of some of that
BUT
I have a jpg image that was saved from PSCS (not saved for web) and it has EXIF data when check under file info (after closing and re-opening the file) in PSCS but not when read with PHP.

Here's what I got so far:

Just need to shorten the EXIF output and place it under the photo :)

Ok, that's all I can do with it for now.
I was writing my own script that turned out to be more work than I wanted to put in this thing. So, I just used, and slightly modified, this one:
...and I think I'm gonna leave it at this since I have no clue on how to finish this the way I wanted...

I was searching for something on this forum and I came accross this thread.
I have something I wrote a while back that:
http://koobi-studio.com/yaniv/
You can view the source here:
http://koobi-studio.com/yaniv/show.php
or download here:
http://koobi-studio.com/yaniv/yaniv.zip
I also have a little image managing/gallery script I wrote a while back that a client didn't want in the end and since it's just lying around, you're welcome to use it if you like.
Here's a demo
http://clients.koobi-studio.com/speitra/alefiya/manage/
username-> root
password-> admin
Let me know if you want this and I will upload the zip.
Look at the 'setup' page and you should know what this script is capable of. It isnt great, but it's just what the client wanted. No database is used, by the way.

Hey thanks for posting that Bane :)
Right now I'm trying to modify Coppermine Gallery to use on my site so I have no need for it. Someone else might :)
