I'm about to release this site to the public so I need some outside views.
Nobody has seen it yet so tell me whatcha think.
Don't be affraid to say what's wrong with it and what needs to be improved.

Actually it looks pretty good. I love the photo on the left. At first i thought maybe the navigation wa a bit har to read, but after visiting the site for a few minutes I changed my mind.
The scroll bar in the news section is hard to see though.
Nice work.

my standard disclaimer: i am not the last word in design and you do not have to change everything that i suggest. here goes...
intial impressions
i love the design! the colors and all vibe well with each other. i like the repeating background but wonder if it should be softened or grunged a bit to further match the interior content? i think you have nailed the colors very well and i like the worn look to it.
the main page
ok, so i am here at sundayvalley.com. what is sunday valley and how would i know that by looking at the main page? i would suggest a brief introduction text about the site and/or the band, just a little introduction so that people know for a fact where they are and what they are about to look at. also, is the girl in the band? what is the reasoning behind her being there? only reason i ask is that i would expect a shot of the band manipulated into the spot where the girl is for "brand recognition" if anything else.
interior pages
i would suggest changing up the image of the girl, maybe use a random image javascript so that the site stays fresh for the viewer. i see that there are a lot of other pages that are still under construction so those are a little tougher to offer a critique on. my main suggestion is to keep an eye on your padding and spacing. bring the content in from the edges a little more and allow it to breathe. right now some of the content appears to be bumped too close to the edge.
code
while it wont make or break the site, it currently does not validate (http://validator.w3.org/check?uri=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.sundayvalley.com%2Fhome.php) with the w3c, same with the css file (http://jigsaw.w3.org/css-validator/validator?uri=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.sundayvalley.com%2Fcss%2Fsunday_valley.css&warning=1&profile=css2&usermedium=all). like i said, most people dont care about this, but having to do it at work for every project has this step embedded into my head. i have found that it helps catch things like alt tags, etc, which can help with the seo.
also, why not add some meta tags into the head section?
other
the navigation text is pretty "black" and seems to stand out. that might be a good thing now that i think about it. i would have rasterized the font layers and distorted them a bit so they appeared to be more naturally integrated into the grunge, dropping the black down to a dark grey or something along those lines. lastly, why not toss in a mouseover event for each one? maybe a handwritten scribble under each or just a simple color change.
...
like i said, i really like the grunge feeling you have here. it is not over the top and just right. sometimes people go overboard with the grunge and it can kill a design. you have the right blend and color selection. i think you are good to go after a few minor fine-tuning changes throughout the site.
looks good!

Nice job Jay, I like it. A couple of picky things: I know the repeating background that looks like a 19th Century Grandma's wallpaper is all the rage now, but I don't know if it matches the main part of the site. Dub suggested "grungifying" it, which is a cool idea, but maybe if you just altered the color and/or the opacity of it just a little. I second what Dub said about the cellpadding of the content in your Iframe. The photo of the girl would be cool if it were related somehow to a particular song, album, or tour. Otherwise, maybe use a more relevant photo. I think the shopping bag and scotch tape grungy stuff is very well done. Very cool. Overall, I really like the design man. Good job. :)

Holly crap Dub
That's gotta be the best detailed review I ever got from anyone. Thanks :)
They are all very valid points and some of the stuff you mentioned I am working on already.
I'm glad you don't think it's overdone. I was affraid that I would do just that.
I did forget to work on w3c validation though.
Thanks again guys.

Well, I think I'm done with this.
I've made some small revisions to answer some minor requests from the band.
As far as validation goes I'm not going to worry about that there are too many things to fix here and frankly I'm not being paid much for this so...
CSS is not validating scrollbar colors, that's not the problem for me since it works in IE and other browsers are not going to display them.
