Hello,
Some advice please-When I upload my photo's of my pastel paintings, they look a little blurred. I am using a digital camera(opus 4000).How can I improve the quality?

Thanks,
Barry

Welcome to the forum, barry. :)
I have moved this thread to the appropriate section.:)
Do they look blurred before you upload them?

When taking photographs of artwork, several things need to be in order to ensure an accurate reproduction of colour.

Whitebalance needs to be spot on. Most cameras can figure out what setting to use as long as light is sufficient - which brings me to the next item: Light.

Ensure that there's plenty of light so either take the piece outside on a bright day but avoid harsh sunlight. Instead find a bright spot in the morning or the afternoon, where the light is a bit softer than midday. Alternatively try and light the piece with two identical lamps each from about 45 degrees on either side of the piece.

Avoid using flash. If the camera asks for flash, increase lighting until the camera is happy without flash.

For best results use a copy stand like this one (http://cgi.ebay.com/COPY-STAND-AND-LIGHTS-No-CSI417-ADJUSTABLE-COPY-STAGE_W0QQitemZ130050315209QQihZ003QQcategoryZ30088QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem).

Hope this helps :)
