Im looking for an amatuer cover artist who is looking to get their work/name out there.

I know the forum description says 'paying jobs' etc and this doesnt pay, it is here to help upcoming artists make a break. I have worked my butt off over the last four years for put my novel together and get it published, and finally I have.

I initially intended to design the cover myself, but then realised it would be better to put the word around to see if any amatuer artists would be interested.

I've looked around this site and others and I like alot of the stuff I see.

The book is being published in late January 2007, but I need cover art soon.

If your design is the best of the ones sent in, (voted the best on my website), then you will be my official cover artist.

You will be fully credited in the book, and will be sent a copy on the first day it is realised.

Please note: This is not an add for an established artist or anything- This is an oppertunity for someone who enjoys and appreicates their hobby and would like the chance to be a real cover artist.

Whoever wins will also get to do the sequal (2008, if the first book goes well enough).

If you are interested go to www.tyran.dajoob.com for more info, or contact me at ColorofDeception@hotmail.com

Sometimes there are people with real talent out there who just need a lucky break. This book could be very handy if you are ever going for a job as a cover artists or designer, as you can present the book etc as your own published work.

It would be nigh on impossible to design something worthwhile, without knowing what the book is about. On your site you mention where it takes place and suggest using those locations as the subject, but if the book is not about those places, it would appear entirely irrelevant to use images of them as the cover.
Please explain what the subject matter of the book is, to enable possible entrants to target their material to the book rather than just using a panoramic shot of a city in which the book partly takes place.

I see.

Roughly; it is about a homeless kid who gets taken in by a rich man who owns an appartment building on the outskirts of Vienna. He offers the kid a job at his appartment building in return for a room there and food/water etc.
It turns out that every employee at the building he owns are young people that he has taken off the streets.
The main charactor is there for around 3 weeks, and he makes friends etc and meets a fellow worker who later becomes his love intrest.
When the appartment owner is found violently murdered one day the two main charactors turn to the streets together, but this time instead of fruitlessly looking for work they turn to crime.
They begin a life of crime, they make a great partnership and plenty of money, until one day they stuff up the cops arrive as they are robbing a place.
They manage to flee before they are busted. They return to their hotel room, gather all their cash and decide to flee Austria.
This is about 1/4 - 1/3 of the book.

The series of books (3 planned, including this one) are the story of one kid, from being a poverty striken 15 year old to becoming a success in life, without an education or a rich family background.

Certainly not. Did you get someone to do the cover and was it published?
