April 2004 PhotoTheme -
This does not mean just simply cranking up the contrast in Photoshop, but explorring the meaning of the word itself. It could be expressed literally in a black and white photo or figuratively in comparison...the options are only limited by one's creativity. No limits here, B+W, or color, just have some fun. :)
To help increase participation I will be offering winning member (judged by me or an appointed judge) a link here in the form for one month (top of the forum) as well as a mention in the SDC News. Its not much but hopefully the excitement and challenge of the theme will be enough to inspire more participation.

I like the second one much better.
It has more "contrast" between foreground and sky.
Excellent :)

Aight, havn't posted for awhile, but i've been trolling around still ;) so here it goes...
I know you don't like text SD, but i have a thing for latin titles :p
BTW: The contrast was not edited in photoshop, this is straight from the camera. (finepix 3800, i think)

Nice work Thirdforce. :)
I dont mind text so long as its sed properly, and in this section and theme having the text as a title outside the frame is perfectly acceptable. :)
For these exercises we want to avoid text on the image itself.

I like it - Nice tones/textures on the walls and a good light and dark contrast presence. I think you could make this piece stronger if the top part and left corner wasn't blown out, but then again you might loose your contrast theme. Might be worth the try though.
Boy! oh Boy!....now we are talking, these entries are smashing....
Well done Serenity, Solarian and ThirdForce......and Solarian that's a wee mystery photo you have?....so hard to believe its a photo...know what I mean?

No worries.
Just a heads up though starting may first I am going to be getting rid of the Art and Photo themes as separate categories, and moving them all into one...since it seems that may work better. this way anyone can enter the theme with whatever method they choose. Its a pain in the but making two separate themes and then nobody posting anything for one of them...so i figure until there is a demand for it I can keep them together for now.
