am looking for a cms for a site that i am working on.. note: i should mention that the hosting account supports php/mysql, etc

the cliff-notes version is that i am offering my serviecs to the local art group here. members are encouraged to help with exhibits, etc, and this is another way that i can help.

i have the site design approved, and i am starting to drop in content. i would love to setup certain things as dynamic, such as their member gallery with individual pages, upcoming events, faq, etc. i would really love to see any many of these pages be as dynamic as possible.

are there are complete & free cms applications that will work for this?

ps - i have looked at a few options already suggested from another board, but for the most part, what i have found has either been total garbage or requires root access to install (which i do not have being on a shared server).

I have found that cms in general are wither to complicated, or not flexible enough. I've been working on one that is simple enough for an end user to understand, but flexible enough for custom designs and programs. I'm not giving it away for free though, and it's still in beta. I can show you a demo of it, but it's for a site I'm half finished, so I can't post it here. PM me and I'll send it to you.

i have looked and looked and decided that the best thing to do is write my own. so thats what i am doing. i was given a base set of code from a buddy of mine to get me started. once it is done we are planning on packaging it and selling it for a minimal price (aren't we all broke artists?).
