For those of you here who are not involved with the beta testing of Expanse (http://www.expansecms.com), I wanted to drop you an update as to where we currently stand.
First up, were are on beta release 1.0.7 and Nate (http://www.shift22.com) has done an awesome job taking all of the bugs, questions, and requests and putting them together in the several beta releases that we testers have had. Right now we are at a milestone version in that there will be no other beta releases for testing before the application is up for sale to the general public.
The install and general setup is incredibly easy and I have no complaints about Expanse. During some initial testing, I had trouble grasping the theme concept that Nate had incorporated into Expanse and got frustrated. I am sure he hated getting emails from me about Expanse and he tried to explain it to me as best as possible without stabbing me in my face with a spoon.
Once I got a handle on how the templates worked with regards to creating custom themes, I have not looked back. I stand behind Nate's work 110% that he has put together a top notch quality system that I am extremely excited to use. Right now I am working on integrating Expanse into the new version of my website (yes, Dubtastic 6 is actually going to happen!).
We have some more work to do and a few more items to check off the to-do list, but things are really coming along. I am stoked to see how this started from a small project I wanted to take on here in the journal section to see it develop into a really superb piece of software. I am more than impressed with it and can rest assured that you will as well.
Anyway, just wanted to let you guys know what was going on with Expanse. It really is happening!
