Heya all,

In about 2 weeks im going on a trip to Melbourne and Brisbane. Of course ill be taking my camera, im just trying to figure out what film to take.

Currently im thinking about 3-4 rolls of my normal Fuji Superia and maybe a roll of Ilford SFX250 or SFX100 which i have in my cam atm.

Does anyone think i should take some Ektachrome or InfraRed film?

Its Autumn down here, so ill be taking lots of high saturation green shots, so the green filter is sure to come too.
As is 81B.

Any suggestions?

IR film is really expesnive and kind of hard to get a hold of here so I have never used it, but it might be interesting.

I would recommend some Ektachrome (tungsten) for experimentation (try some long exposures at sunset).

Also you will be glad you packed a roll or two of either one of the following:

Fuji Velvia
Fuji Provia (100)

Cheers. :)

Spend the extra bucks on the provia or velvia....a really great multi-speed transperancy is MS100, pricey though $15cad.

Get a book on infra-red photography if you've never done it before...IR is ultra-cool. You will need a red filter(25a or 28a) Make sure to keep it cool, temps around 30deg-C will fog the film.

B&W is T-max all the way...C-41 process B&W just sux.

Have a good time......lucky %$#&*

Oh yeah....figure out how many rolls you think you'll shoot then double it, better to have extra than to run out.

Yeah, thankfully buying film in Melbourne is damn easy, I used to live there so i know most of the photo stores.
I shot a roll of IR in Sweden, but didnt really like how it came out, although it was one of the Kodak IR films.
Quite funky effects though.
