some coloring -
and if anyone has advice for painting/coloring/drawing rocks, it would be well appreciated. I just can't seem to do that part :P.

That is pretty good, the rendering on the beast is good. I think the trees in the bg ned some more thinner branches but the atmosphere is getting there. ;)
About the rock..yeah they can be tricky. I would just paint a few 'planes' of the rock face in highlight and see how that goes...

with geocites you have to copy and paste or drag into the url bar.

or add a ? mark after the link that works as well :)
This is looking good I like the rendering of the monster. The rock looks too flat so try adding shades and highlights. Try to be as random as possible that's what I tend to notice with rocks. The trees could use some work I agree with the thinning of the branches.. but this is good.

I like the gradient on the "SkidVis" text. Unfortunately, you have a little bit of gradient banding (I see it on two of my development monitors, with different res and graphics cards). If you want to research "banding", this this is a good page (http://webreference.com/graphics/column27/). Good job though.
(wait a second, I don't know if I was supposed to be critiquing the SkidVis page, or the beast graphic. Confusing thread  )

Critting the artwork not the page. ;)

ok... thanks Steel (must be all those years of substance abuse on my part.) Well then, as far as the beast, very cool looking LoCo, good job on the coloring. It blends well with the inking. I'd love to see it in the context of a graphic novel, with other characters and backgrounds. Who "owns" the beast character?

as far as I know, the person that owns it is the same as the guy who owns the website http://www.skidvis.com. I was lookin around for stuff to color a long time ago, and came across that website.

Cool LoCo. Thanks for the info. It's just that when I see a cool looking character, I always start developing a storyboard in my mind for it. I guess I should create my own characters and develop a graphic novel. If I only had time! Good job on the coloring :)
