Troubled: I enherited a 35mm EXA IIA from my grandfather, and I have no idea where to put the film in! Not even my photography teacher could help me. I know it is a Russian camera from approx. the late 60's-early 70's... so not many camera places around me could help me much either, unfortunately. If anyone knows anything about EXA, some advice would be greatly appreciated! I'm itching to fly through some rolls of film! :]

Do you have a picture of it (or link one from the internet)?

On my old Pentax you have to pull up the film wind knob and then the back springs open.

found this (http://www.butkus.org/chinon/exa_ii/exa_ii.htm)
unfortunately i coulnd't open it on my computer so i don't know if it will help.
i'm surprised your teacher couldn't help you.

i agree with freaky, it looks like you pull up the wind knob, slide the film in and latch the film onto the reel and advance it a couple of times before you close the back.

Thanks for taking the time to try and help me out!
It could be what you said freakyclean, about the film wind knob... I tried and it's difficult, though, and I'm afraid to ruin it because it is so old...
Thanks for that site you found darwin, I've found similar sites myself, they tend to be vague or with little information or just in a different language, unfortunately... but if this picture (from the site darwin found) helps anybody:

ha thanks for pointing that out! I didn't get time to really check that site out thoroughly (mother's day family lunch and all), so I would've probably completely missed that! I can be so oblivious sometimes... :blushes:
thanks a bunch you guys!
hopefully I'll get out and take some shots sometime soon and post them here :]
