Good day!!
Glad to see SD has the forum up and running once again, 'twas missed terribly.
Also good to see Snoogie still kicking around...happy b-day man!
Alot has happened since I was posting to the old SDC forums...I sold my F5
:eek2: and switched pretty much to 6X7 (until I can afford a Hasselblad.) I've given up shooting weddings..the money was good but they really suck. So I'm trying to do more of the fine art type thing, but it's hard without a lab. The place we had in Edmonton that rented lab space closed down. So it's been months since I've shot anything, but with SD Forums back online..good old peer pressure should get me clicking the shutter once more.
Muchos Gracias....see you around!

Good to see you back on the forum.
Ever thought of shooting Digital Medium Format?
I saw in one of the photo mags they had a kit with Valeo 6 MP back, body and lens relatively inexpensive from memory, at least as far as medium format stuff goes, Idon't remember the body/lens brand.
www.luminous-landscape.com has some interesting articles on medium format and digital.
Michael says from tests that his 1ds will equal the amount of information that you are able to capture on MF film. Notice I didn't say equal quality...

photok... Hi , nice to meet you dude. This might be the wrong thread for this, but what do you think of the Sony DSC-F828 (http://reviews.cnet.com/Sony_Cyber_Shot_DSC_F828/4505-6501_7-30474948.html?tag=pdtl-list)?

It might be a good idea to post this in the Photography -->Techniques - Questions - Discussion forum, but Iam sure photoK will give some insight here. :)

My personal opinion is Sony should stick to home theatre.

I'm actually tossing it around. Ever since I saw a 20X30 print taken from a Nikon D1X I've been flip-flopping between that and MF. If I went MF it would be with digital backs, I'd still want to be able to shoot film (especially B&W.)
I would like to go with a Hasselblad 503CW and a Kodak back

Kodak have discontinued all there MF backs as of February I think, though there is obviously some stock of them. There was a press release in January sometime if I recall correctly
Why would you go with a D1X vs a Canon 1Ds, 1D MII or even Kodaks DCS Pro SLR/n which used to be the 14n (seeing as though it seems they got it right this time)??
Both the Canon 1DS and Kodak give you full frame sensors, while the 1D MII gives you 1.3 cropping vs the 1.5 of the Nikon. Granted the 1Ds is very expensive but the Kodak and 1D MII are closer to the 1DX pricing.
The 1D MII being able to shoot 8fps for up to 40 frames at 8MP is a huge benefit. Very similar to the Nikon D2H.
