after a local contest, i found a local group that helps promote art and artists in the community with all types of events and avenues. being interested and wanting to help, i have volunteered to create their web presence.

i wanted to create something minimal in a way, but also with enough visual punch to keep the site visitor from getting bored. i spent about an hour and a half on an initial concept and have sent it off to see what the "powers that be" think of the design.

i opted to use text for their logo, mainly because the logo that have looks bad, imho. it is a photo of a local building with text tossed on top of it and does not lend itself to be easily used in the design. i am hoping that we can only use it on the documents, and not the site itself. ;)

so far, they really like the design and are currently letting other members review it.

I always find your designs inspiring. This one is no exception. It kind of reminds of what gettyone used to look like, although I can't quite remember.

Great work. The only thing I can think of to crit is that if the text is really going to be that small, make sure it's set with percentages, and not a fixed size.

it is a clean , friedly site...like the colors...you can find quick what you want...that's how it should be...good work..no crits from me.

thanks all... looks like they do not have any suggestions for it either and are currently setting up the hosting account for it. so i will soon begin the slicing and dicing of the site.

this will be a good project and mean some good exposure for me. this will not be listed under dubtastic, of course, since dubtastic appeals to a totally different crowd. will have to use my corporate identity for this one. :)
