I just saw it last night. I haven't stopped thinking about it since. It really takes you into that world, reminds me of what Lord of the Rings does for me. I don't get all crazy over Star Wars like most people, but I do follow and really like the movies. I have a newfound respect for Yoda in particular. I won't spoil it for you, but if you are going for anything, go to see Yoda. If anything can make the movie bad, Yoda will save it for you. :)
I read a lot of threads at cgtalk.com about the movie, and got a lot of different viewpoints inprinted in my brain before I saw it, something I won't do again, because I really liked it, and a lot of people bashed it. Most people said the acting was terrible, the effects were the best, the story was ok, and Yoda rules. I didn't find the acting that bad, nor the story, I think swearing is needed to describe Yoda (i.e - He FUCKING rules!), and the effects were the best yet. I love the buzz I get after seeing movies like this, reminds me how much I love fantasy :)

Well I heard from Lucas that this was made more for the grown ups, that its a different kind of Star Wars. I am looking forward to going to see it.
Ive wanted to see it since I saw the trailor at Lord Of The Rings. Hell I was thinking about how awesome the movie looked while watching LOTR's.
The only reason I havent seen it yet is because I want to wait out the crowd, I want to enjoy it without people talking and hearing constant popcorn chewing. But Im getting sick of everyone spoiling everything.
Ive never expected good acting with a Star Wars movie anyways. Its just something youve come to expect. Mark Hamil in A New Hope was just as bad as any of the actors in the new movies.

I thought the same thing, I even had ticket's to the premiere. But I went anyway, It was very busy and during the trailers I could hardly hear myself think. But when StarWars started everyone just shutted up. Movie magic? :)

Yeah, i went to the premiere too. I dont know about the crowds up there but down here they just shut up. It was pretty cool.
As for the movie, i think they used too much CG, and for shots where they didnt need it.
And for some of the character CG shots they didnt put enough effort in.
But then again, I guess im just picky. Some of the Coruscant scenes are gorgeous, and look like they were painted by hand.
Which, knowing the budget, they probably were.
Anyway i enjoyed it. But not as much as some movies (fightclub)
Craig Mullins (http://www.goodbrush.com) did the matte paintings (still shots like the BG's, done in Photoshop). He's one of the best digital artists in the world, which is another reason why I anticipated this movie more than Episode I, since the new Star Wars films concentrate a lot on the beauty of everything which I love. And with him doing the mattes it will be nothing less than amazing

SickDamien: I was going to go opening night, but I had noone to go with. Don't have many friends over here, no time to go out and meet people. I'm too busy trying to get back over there and go to school. In my home town of Chilliwack, me and my friends camped out in the line-up for episode one. We were there about a week before in a camper in the parking lot, taking turns saving our spot. I think I did it more for hanging out with my friends than waiting for the movie. It was so much fun! I was pretty sure we'd get a seat seeing how it's not that big of a town and there were 4 theares showing it, turns out I was right..in fact there were 7 seats left over after all that... :) But hey, we had fun!
If anyone wants the yoda scene, I downloaded it today off of kazaa, just let me know :)
I pretty much agree with what everyone has said here. I truly believe that the level of cg in this film has surpassed anything I have ever seen, the entire battle seens were so incredibly well done that once in a while I had to actually remind myself that it was cg. (Not that it was that incredibly realistic, just that 3 years waiting was well worth it.)
As for yoda, he is fucking god. I laughed after when he picked up his cane and started hobling again.
I too anticipated long lineups, and ordered tickets online, but when we got there there were no lineups at all.
Dan: Chilliwack B.C.?
