For macros the more light the better. Try setting up near a window on a bright day.

I haven't used a Sony Digicam but I think most of them have a Macro mode, try checking your manual.

Are you looking for help with the camera or the object setup, or both?

Do you have a sample of what you want it to look like?

The macro button is usually a little flower emblem.

Also, if you have multiple items, it's usually a good idea to have them close together because a mecro lense has a short depth of field.
