Im working on a tutorial site and here is the style I am going with.

Theres 2 versions, #1 with a table style holding content. Then #2 that is more part of the main piece. (I dont know how to explain these things ha).

Anyways Im likeing #2 a lot more. But I still think its missing something and it looks boring.

I also need a title for the tutorial page, if anyone can think of anything that might help then let me know.

I am liking the 2nd one too, but I am not sure what else to recommend.

I think you need to differentiate between the content and the rest of the site more, make one or the other stand out more. I think the tips, content header and actual content should be tied together more. You could use some of that yellow from the pin striping of the main menu somewhere.
I think the content heading should be Photoshop - Painting as painting is the sub-heading (I assume).

Just some thoughts...

I'm undecided as to which one I like best

ok thanks.

I created some HTML: http://www.newelysium.com/lesson/

The blue graphic will be replaced with a thumbnail of the finished image of the tutorial. Then it will have navigation and an explanation of what the tutorial is.

I tried to create something to seperate the tutorial steps from the static stuff at the top. Im still stuck as to what to put there and make it look good at the same time. Maybe I just need to come up with some content for filler.
