what do you do when you sit and look at your photography and think who cares? am i the only one who feels like this? I mean photography is getting old again (my photography anyways) ...it's happened before and it's happening again....maybe I just take too many pictures.. i don't know what to do about it, I feel like I can't go forward anymore...more or less just side to side, another barrier...

i care, i mean you do take some amazing pictures...inspiring as a matter of fact..least for me.
i will be the first to tell you not to stop..but sometimes we need time away from something to appreciate it...or just step back for a bit.
maybe you just need to try different techniques...or just change the subject of your photography.

as for me...i know i will never be a great photographer...but i enjoy it...from the moment i realized the possibilities...even before photoshop, in the darkroom...i have always found the concept of affecting peoples emotions amazing.

Yea, welcome to my world blue.
I agree with darwin as well.
It will happen not matter what. You will hate and you will love it.
My advice to you is to keep pushing on. I'm not the one to preach to others but that's what you gotta do I've been told.

Time away from it may make you appreciate it more - and you may be able to get back at it again with fresh perspective.

Here is a list of things that may help you (or anyone in a creative roadblock):

1. Take a break for a short period
2. Create pics or art taht is the complete oppositie of what you normally do
3. Search for inspiration in other great artists - dont just limit yourself to photographic artists either, keep your mind open.
4. Seek a group of people with the same interests..maybe there is a photoclub in your area were you can meet and share ideas with other people, you would be surprised how amazing this can be.
5. Never force it. If its not there one day, its not there, but dont let that become too much of a habit as this can turn into apathy (trust me i go through this about 10 times a year)

I hope this helps :)

Some great replies in this thread already blue, especially Steeldolphin's (print that one out and hang it up!). All I can add is: Never stop creating, no matter what. I cherish every split second that I get to create, and lately, I have very few of those split seconds. Your photos are nice and you will always have an appreciative audience for them, especially here at the SDC. :)

Don't be so blue ;)

I find after a week or so it passes. It usually happens for me after taking lots of photos in a short period. It happens to a lot of professional photographers as well.

Try the Fred Miranda weekly or monthly photo contests for a kick in the pants. Some of the images are just amazing. www.fredmiranda.com - You have to register to be able to see the photo contest section of the forum.
