More stupid then lucky.
That cost me a small fortune and I only use it about once a month.

Well mine cost a large fortune - well cost the bank a large fortune.
I take lots of pictures though. Granted the vast majority are just average but there are a few I like.
Since mid April when I got the 10D I have taken 5712 as of today. The most I have shot with film in a year is approx. 2000.
Ansel Adams said that you should get about 12 portfolio quality photos a year. Out of the 30,000 or so images that Ansel Adams shot per year that is how many he thought were good.

^Yeah I've taken like, since I started seriously about a month ago, 60-70, and there are honestly like 3 that I could take into consideration for being GREAT or even NEAR GREAT..

I'm up to 3548 right now but that's with my second 10D.
The first one I had to return.
That's how photography is, you go out and fill your memory card then get home to find maybe 5 that you could show to people.
Don't get me wrong though. I LOVE my 10D.

For film I use a Nikon N80 and up until 2 days ago my digital camera of choice was a Sony DSC-717, but just yesterday my new toy, the Nikon D70, arrived and I can't wait to go out and test her out. That thing was backordered nearly 2 months, but from what I've seen so far, she was well worth the wait. Hopefully I'll have some pics up to show within the week.

i won't even tell you how many cameras (i'm a junkie :) ) i have but only list my favorites. my first camera, which i still have, was a pentax k1000, best learning camera there is. then i got my first nikon, an n4004, and i fell in love. then the latch on that one broke and i needed a camera quickly for a family reunion, and had to settle for a nikon n65. i figure i will repair the latch on the 4004 and sell the n65.
my first digital was a sony mavica, i thought i would always hate digital, but then i got the cybershot and found out how wonderful digital can be. but i hated the lag time on the camera and even more so the limitations of not having an slr. that's when i got my d70, and i haven't touched my film cams since, which is really quite sad.
