I'm just getting my silkscreen buisness started out of my garage, I took a couple of classes on printing the shirts, but I'm have a really hard time on the computer part. can anyone give me a couple of tips on transferring images from illustrator to the transparent film. How do i get started. thanks i really appreciate your time.

I've never done silkscreening so I'm not sure.

I know there were some tutorials on the Web.

Moreguiness or Angryblue would probably be the best people to respond when they come around this way.

Yeah MG and and Angry know there stuff in that regard...doubt we will see much of Angry around these parts he doesnt really visit too often.

Usually you would need a plotter to print the film

You can get transparents for both lazer and ink-jet printers though, i suggest you start by getting some of those and use that as a substitute for a plotter.

Well this is a very vauge question. Do you mean the separations? or the act of printing them out? If you're at home and have a decent laser printer you can use vellum to print out the seps...remember to use only spot colors in your design...that is not illustrators default by the way so double click on the color in the swatches pallete and check the box for spot color. From there you'llneed to go into print set-up but that's a whole lot more typing. Give me some more specifics.
