Went to the Massachusetts Museum of Contemporary Art (http://www.massmoca.org) today. This is a massive complex in the middle of nowhere in the northwestern corner of Massachusetts. It is a large series of converted mill buildings that is now used as galleries and performance spaces. While the complex is huge, only around 20% of it has viewable art. You can see this entire series of images at http://www.abrasivedesign.com/stuff/massmoca - around 74 pics. note that some are blurry or pooly lit because the museum will only allow non-flash pictures.

explinations of these works are at the MassMoCA website here (http://www.massmoca.org/visual_arts/visual_arts.html), better than me trying to explain them to you.

now this is very cool - installation piece by Ann Hamilton called "corpus'. this is in Building 5, which is a single space longer than a football field. the installation has these little machines that eash drop a piece of A4 sized trace paper one at a time onto the floor below for 10 months. the speakers raise and lower in a slow cycle and have phrases spoken randomly from them.
