Okay we will start with May's photo them a bit early. :)

Here it is: The key word is 'Shimmering'

Take a photo or series of photos that fits with or describes 'Shimmering'.

Be as creative as you like, and most important have fun! Youcan enter as many photos as you like.

Cheers.

We can't make it too easy. :)

If it helps any, we can make the theme shiny instead of shimmering.

Sweet photo Steel, that light coming from the clouds looks great, tood bad it werent even more pronounced, but then again it might look fake if it was. ;)

Just realised my photo of the cranes would make a good shimmering theme.

Good decision, Tamron makes good lenses IMO.

This is a really old photo, and a crappy scan. No adjustments made.
Minolta Dynax 300si (maxxum in the us, I think)
Standard 28-70mm AF Beroflex lens bought for around 5 bucks (used)
Can't remember anything else :)

This is perfect for an image I took in the Keys... is it ok that I didn't take it with this assignment in mind? I promise I'll take more for that very purpose... :D

*runs off to prepare her shimmering image*

The only think I did with that photo is push up the third level arrow (sorry, am a bit technically challenged) just a little bit.

It was simply amazing as you could not have seen that with your own eyes. It wasn't until I looked through the lens did those dancing beams show up.

alda.b can you tell us the technicals of the photo?
Like camera and filters and stuff.

Just a Sony Mavica, not sure which model. Taken at 1024 x 768 and no filters. :) I feel very lucky to have been there. I would never have seen it had I been looking for it... ;)

Very cool. the optics of the camera actually improved upon the actual scene then.

Interesting, but not quite shimmering

Steeldolphin

I can see where she was inspired for the shimmer though...the 'dress' would definitely have a shimmer to it, and the heade dress almost does, cause its blurred and infers some 'movement' Heheh, my take on it anyways. :)

Not just shimmering alda, the water shot is dazzling.

How did you get the starbursts? Were they naturally occuring, did you use a filter, or alter digitally?

Steeldolphin

photok: I think she mentioned that there were only some levels adjustments in PS - no filters.

Thanks photok. Steel is right, it was sheer luck that I captured it.

I'm not a pro photographer so please judge the images according to that. I just got my Nikon N65 SLR (fijifilm, no filters used). This is part of a series of 3 photographs taken of local lake and swans in it. Enjoy.

Dlevit: Nice image. I cant see the swans *squints* but like the general compostion and feel of it. :)

Heheh, I think photok is the only 'pro photographer' amongst us, however we a great slection of talented amateurs. ;)

Cheers.

Thanks for the reply. The other two images have the swan up close, which I will post later. For this photograph, the swan isn't suppose to be the main thing if you know what I mean...it just happen to be there.

I think that most of you here a professionals in some type of art: photography, digital, etc. By being good at one you will probably better than many on the other. I'm just 14 (hehe) years old.
