this weekend there was an air show at the local air base and some friends and I went. taking my camera along, i had my first go at shooting moving objects...really fast moving objects. at first, i missed some shots, but i pretty quickly figured out what i was doing wrong and started turning out some decent photos. also, i'm glad my camera has a 10x optical zoom, because the shots where i pushed into digital zoom didn't really turn out (not that i expected them too). i also realized that i need to get some nd filters. for a good portion of the day, my camera was stopped to f9 (my cameras smallest ap) and a shutter speed of 1/1000 - 1/2000 (fastest shutter)

I share the same opinion.
I guess it is a challenge to get a nice clean shots of such fast moving objects.

yeah. i'm kinda surprised that 4th picture came out as well as it did. it was announced as going 650 mph, just below mach 1 for that elevation.

oh, it should also be noted that the only manipulation to the 7th picture was levels and cropping.

You have captured some nice shots here....and thats amazing when these jets are going so bloody fast....

i am guessing you know that they broke record attendance with that show, over 70,000 people. i used to live off roswell road down the street from the big chicken. i could only imagine traffic around that area.
