Hi, I am currently working on my new website:
You can see a preview here (http://www.observedreality.com/new/preview.html). This is just a basic HTML page, no content yet.
The 2 menus will be iframes.
The gallery will be powerd my Mischers script, images will be shown in popups.
Tell me what you think of the "design" and if it would fit to a photopage.
Thanks
Snoogie

Well all there really is to comment on there is the pic at the moment. Its a nice picture and it suits the website because it affords so much empty space up top for where the content will go. My only complaint is the image quality of the jpg compression. The image looks really 'artifacty' maybe re-save it as a higher quality jpg.

As said before me. not to much to comment about. but i like the feel of it. you can do some many great things with it. good luck, and hope it comes out like you hope.

Some barely noticeable flash would go great over this.
very nice, and great photo to use for a layout. The blank area at the top is perfect for text and content and all that good stuff.

not a lot to say yet, as there is no "design," but one thing i would definetly do is have some kind of a transition of light on the menu items that relatates to the light transition in the image itself.

Well this is the first time I have been on the forums in almost 2 years according to the "last time you visited: 05/24/2002" Can't believe its been that long. Anyway about the site. I looked at your new site and have basically the same comments as everyone else. So I decided to take a look at your current web site and then your new concept.
They are basically the same design and concept and I am wondering if your just changing the site for the sake of changing it. I would like to challenge you to going in a completely different direction with this design. No tan or sand colors unless much darker like a rich brown and maybe create graphics from start to finish rather then just using a photo. I understand that your site is about your photos and that is your focus but maybe have the photo of your choice in the background or built into the navigation. I would also suggest not limiting yourself to a box as this often stops your creative process because in your mind you destroy ideas before they begin knowing they won't fit into the 500x500 box.
I also took the time to go through your current web site and have some other suggestions. If a person clicks to see your portfolio take them directly to your portfolio rather then have the user then make another choice as to what type of gallery they would like to see. My suggestion would take them to your best or most current work and then give them the option with submenus to view your complete porfolio! :)
Hope this helps.
Cheers!
