So I just got a DV camera and intend to do some short films. To start with, I just want to see what can be done and if it's worth getting into....which I reckon it is....but I intend to make some shorts without dialogue or acting or anything. Just like photography but moving image and with some nice tunes with it. Does anybody else experiment with that sort of thing, cause I thought it would be nice to perhaps post some of it here, but would be unsure where to post it, or if people would be interested?

I suppose above is just a longwinded way of saying, that if the interest for moving image is there, perhaps a thread would be cool?

So, what do you lot think?

I don't think it needs a forum of its own, but I love to see moving art/shortfilms etc like Cone makes as well as others.

I have a short, that I helped put together and that my friend did. He is a film major at my University, I have been wanting to display it but it is so big. :(
Congrats on the new DV cam haumovie. What kind is it?

My sister and brother-in-law got a new one so the family gave me their old one as a bday present. It's a Sony DCR-PC120E. Nothing special. 1.5 mpixel, but it is something that I've wanted for a long time. :)
As a bonus, my new and extremely powerful pc should be arriving soon, so I will be able to do some snappy editing as well. A good friend is a musician/producer, so we'll probably do a collaboration of some sort.

You could post that stuff in the Finished Digital Art section...pretty much any media goes there anyways. :)

Really??? I mean what is the max file size? Does anyone know of anywhere that is a good place to upload a short film? I do not have a server at the moment so I was wondering if you all new if a place that exists for this type of art?

heheh, yeah you would have host those files yourself...the SDC forums bandwidth and storage resources are limited....and as for hosting solutions for that, other than a regular hosting account I dont know of any places that specialize in that stuff.
