There was some interest in this one. Time to show off your skills at taking those shots of flora....flowers, trees, plants etc.

At first I thought "man, this is going to be easy".

I guess Solarian, that one goes out to find the flower of choice and take a shot of the wee bugger......but its not that easy to find flowers that we have seen already shot by some of our members.....
I went out with my camera tonight, but had no luck.......but I hope to come across some flower shots...if not, well I will just have to go to the wifes flowershop......

The 2nd shot there Siborg is just AMAZING. The texture and feel to it just makes me want to touch my screen! The first, I love the dark background and complete focus on the flower, great capture there too, but the 2nd takes the cake ;)

Hehe, thanks. You can expect many more insect photos over the summer. Give it a couple of weeks and they should start creeeping out more, and I'll be sneaking up on them as usual ;) I can't wait!

Very nice shots Siborg. #1 is my favorite out of the two. The simplicity and focus on the rose (I think it's a rose) with the black bg really strengthens the overall feel and beauty of the single rose. Really makes it "pop." #2 is a sweet shot, but #1 definately "takes the cake" out of the two. :p

I should mention the last tree shot was taken with my new 17-35 2.8-4 Tamron. It was back ordered when I got the camera so it just arrived.

How long was that exposure?
I tried looking in your image info but there was nothing there.

Exposure was 1.5 seconds ISO 100 F27 with a 2x ND filter. Camera (Canon 10D) was set to aperture priority and I used the built in speed light plus an external flash that I fired manually. Lens was a Tamron 28-75 F2.8 at 54mm.

Shot was taken about 3 in the afternoon with wind gusting to about 30 miles an hour, sky was quite overcast and it was lightly raining at the time.

Uh oh... I had totally forgotten about this challenge. These photos wasn't meant for the challenge, but what the heck, I want to partisipate too. :D

Interesting photo Serenity. Almost looks like a manip. Don't like that is so burned out, but nice shot!

It's not a manip (Although I did play with the contrast). It's a shot off my back porch shooting up against the sky. I just took the flowers on my 2nd entry and placed them outside. And your right, it is burned out quite a bit (the sun didn't help out much) But this shot was more just for fun. I know it's not a technically sound shot, I just liked the idea of the flowers against a high blue sky.
