after doing a ton of research and frantic searching around for a CMS soloution as mentioned in this thread (http://www.steeldolphin-forums.com/showthread.php?t=1100), we have been looking at using Macromedia Contribute 2 (http://www.macromedia.com/software/contribute/) as our soloution for a few reasons:
-needs no special server technologies to work (whihc we dont have - the school runs win 2000 server/IIS and thats about it)
-needs exactly zero server configuration
-needs exactly zero dynamic database support or installation
-after looking at the site we realized it does not need to be dynamic or databse driven in any way, it just needs to updateable easily by non web people
-its a very cheap soloution as we can get a couple of copies for $80 each and thats all we need, this then lets us host on campus for free
-it is apparently very, very easy to use
-allows for basically wide open design possiblities, as opposed to many CMS's which use templates.
so i am pretty sure nobody here has used contribute, but if you have i'd really like to hear any opinions you have. thanx!
