Heya all

Im trying to do draw/sketch/airbrush/create liquids in PS6.

I have no idea how to start, like with the whole curvature on the lip and surface tension and all,
Slightly higher reflectivity.

Does anyone know of some good tutes for this?

Or can someone post me their own tute in here.

Cheers

somehow this post slipped through the net. ;)

Here is one based on the one found in Down and Dirty Tricks.

On the bg layer

make a diagional gradient from dark grey to light grey (70% black to 20%) depending onthe light direction you choose.

Create a new layer;

Filter: Add Noise at 400% (gaussian, monochromatic) then I add a gaussian blur (big one 4-6 pixels)

then play with the threshold till you get the drops looking like you want.

Select the spots with whatever method you like, then create a new layer. Stroke a gradient (based onthe light source) from lets say Dark grey to light grey. Bevel and Emboss the layer set your highlight opacity to something really high I use 100%. For larger images you will need to set the size bigger 7+ pixels you just have to eyeball it.

Now you will want to merge the water drops layer with a new blank layer that you will place below it. Now add a 1 or 2 pixel stroke to the selection of the spots and while its still selected add a 1 pixel gaussian blur.

that should give you something to work with.

Just remember that water distorts whatever is below it and drops usually have some specular highlights and a refelcted highlite on the edges.

I hope this helps...not an easy subject to get across in a forum, sorry.

Part of my newest tutorial has a water section which should help you along the way.
