anybody know how to make an individual letter, face the opposite way to the way it should be facing??
i know in quark, you just have to change the horizontalness, but i can't find anything similar to that with indesign

You can't do individual letters as far as I know but you can flip a text box using the transform pallet (look under the arrow).

but nothing i really need, i can make the E reversed, by flipping it 180degrees, but i can't do it to the N

In the drop down menu (under arrow) on the transform box there is a flip horizontal or flip vertical.
