Well, I'm playing with superimposing Tattoos on myself, but I can't find a way to put the tattoo on there, and have the texture of the skin show through. If you change the layer setting to "overlay" the black turns to a peach color. Any ideas?
Here's what I got so far:

To really pull it off, you're going to need more than one layer. Hard light is often a good one for overlays. Also, to bring back some of the highlights from your skin, duplicate the background layer and apply the tattoo layer mask to it. Now adjust the levels and hue until it's fitting for a very dark, semi-shiny surface. Now, above your hard light layer (set to about 80-90%) you can use the new highlight layer set to screen, luminoscity, or whatever helps bring out the highlights properly.
