Took a series of photos of a man whom I have great respect and admiration for. Mr. Tom Mah, who is a 5th Degree Black belt in Karate (Chito-ryu). He is also a 2x world champion in Kata competion. His every movement is solid and smooth. He seems to have such balance and confidence, and exudes a quiet power. It was this image of him that I tried to capture in the series of photos.
This was done for a college project. the negatives were average at best, with little contrast, but enough for me to hammer out some contrast in the print stage. The image below is a digital remake from the scanned neg, as I don't have the original prints.
Digitally I adjusted the levels to get the contrast and feel of the print as I remember it.
In the darkroom I had adjusted the magenta filter on the color head enlarger to 90-100% and used a variable contrast paper (Illford).
