There are two graphic design mags you can get for free in Canada as long as you are a "qualified professional". They are Graphic Exchange and The Graphic Arts Magazine.
Websites are www.gxo.com and www.graphicartsbiz.com respectively.

Graphic Exchange is the better of the two and has everything from video editing, digi cams to print and software tutorials.

Graphic Arts is more of a printing industry mag but has lots of good stuff for print designers and even some good business tips for us business owners.

Interesting....however they could both use a good web design. :)

The first one was horrid. :(

I guess you shouldn't judge a magazine by its website though.

What you don't like the shooting of chess pieces?
I noticed the bad websites to. Believe it or not they are a lot better than the Cokin site was. I did up a site on spec for them last year and they finally changed it (themselves). Their site was like a power point presentation with each "page" as a jpeg.

Ugh.

I've been using Flash since version 3 and I do like it alot.
However, web designers must recognize that there is a time and a place for it.

And don't even get me started about a frameset on your index page...

Another great "free" resource is http://www.istockphoto.com

They give you the first 5 downloads for free.
You photographers should really check it out as you can earn credits for uploading photos.

I see that I am not the only one that gets irritated with abusing flash. Don't get me wrong I love flash if it's used properly but people use it for the same of using it. It's too bad it has to be that way. Ah well at least it's better then <blink>Blinking Text</blink>
