I guess you can do what ever you like for own personal site. :)

I love the drawing and the how its a nice faded blue.

I find the text on the splash out of place (font face) and too small.

Not a big fan of the grid background, or the completely blue theme either, but it looks like the site wil be fairly organized and you are going with a 'tried and true' layout scheme.

forgot to mention that the small text is for 800x600 viewers.

Im rather surprised that somehow got dug up, from 2 years ago, I'm even more surprised to see that my account still works. I can't even grasp a memory on what that website looked like back then. All I could say is it probably looked like garbage in one way or another.
