i've had to design a clothing label, company, and advertising to go with it.
to promote an ethical company. who do not produce, lothing made in sweatshops.
one of the criterias, was that people or figures were not to be used in the promotional material.
the first is a logo.
i chose ether as the company name because ether, is what is in the air, what is in space, the dark matter etc. and i used it, to show that the people working for this company are free, not treated like slaves, in shitty conditions.
and from that starting point, i decided to manipulate, the logo, to show this and came up with an idea of making the logo, look like a comet, or a burning flame.
to show in a sense a new movement, direction, erm to show that, the company is rebelling against they usual practises of sweatshops. the red colour was chosen, due to it being bright, and noticable, a stop and look colour.
this is a screen print of the logo.
the eroding, and decayed look, of it not being filled in properly, was an unexpected suprise. i feel it gives it a natural look, nothing to corporate and clean. i dont know wheter to stick with it or not. or would something cleaner be more appropriate?

i've also gotta design ticketing, for the clothing. this is an idea for the inside of the ticket, i chose washing machines as an image, in a sense to show that the company is clean, with it's ethical stance, no blood or sweat on the clothing produced.
and overlayed it with a dictionary defintion of the company logo,
enlarging certain parts. does it work?
