now that has been out for a little while and people have gotten to really use it, for those who have upgraded to Adobe CS how you like/dislike it versus the previous version (Adobe 7? i forget the version number) I am most interested in thoughts on InDesign CS, Illustrator CS and Photoshop CS.
I ask as i have an upgrade coming to me (part of my licencse thru school) and i wanted to know if its worth it or not... faster/slower, stable/unstable, etc...

My PC specs are:
P3 733 MHz
256MB RAM
I've tried PS CS and it works more or less the same speed as PS7 does (which is slow on this 4 year old 733MHz machine)
I think PS CS is better than PS7 but I expected more. I mean, it's not worth getting PS CS for the new features it has even though I really like its new Scripting feature and the nested layers.
So in short, for my uses, PS CS is not worth it but I'm sure a lot of people will find it a godsend depending on what they do.

I share Banes thoughts.
I was a bit disappointed to see that it had only few upgrades from ver. 7.

I still use PS7. I cant afford the upgrade, but by the looks of it there are few features with CS that I am missing. I dont know much about the Illustrator and Indesign additions though.

i generally spend a lot more time in InDesign and Illustrator than i do in photoshop - i would say a LOT more time. School gives me a free (read: prepaid) upgrade on the Adobe suite for 2 years so the CS upgrade is waiting for me, i just wanted to be sure it wasnt running badly for anyone before i did it. its all part of my master plan to make my powerbook run perfectly instead of randomly unstable because of a crappy disk image school inists on giving me. bastards.

It all depends what you want to do with your programs.
To be honest, our opinion is not that really important. We can only say of it's fast or stable on our computers, but even that doesn't mean a whole lot. A crappy configured computer that's configured like shit can run quite slow or crash most programs...
Also, what is important for me in Illstrator CS, Adobe CS might not at all important for you. I use Photoshop CS a lot for photography and that was my reason why I updated, but it doesn't mean it should be yours.
Compare both versions and then decide.
It's the same with buying a car; how can we advice you which car to buy, if we don't know all the background information. ;)
