Went trough some old stuff hidden at my moms house today and thought I might share it you guys, even though I don't like it my self. I haven't taken good care of these so they are a bit ruined and washed out. :(

PS: Photographed them with a wideangle lens so they are a bit disordered and got some light reflection issues. (Some a bit blurry too, will fix that later for my website).

These are nice John. I love the "Frustrated" acrylic piece. On that one, did you dilute any of the paints with water, or use all of the colors straight out of the tube? Just curious. :grin2:

Jeff >> diluting Acrylic with water actually isn't too good for the paint. It makes the binder less and the pigment doesn't hold and you get uneven paint. Try Acrylic Matte Medium or Retarder.

JC >> these are great I especially like the greek/roman/egyptian one you should work on that more the ink is great.

Ed is right.

There is also a glazing medium that works like both, but I still use do use water - cause I am cheap.

Yeah, most of the stuff I've been doing lately involves just using the acrylics straight out of the tube. If I do want to dilute, for a wash effect or whatever, I use a tiny bit of water. I may try some of the mediums eventually, even the gels, but for now, I'm having fun just putting the paint on the canvas nice and thick. One thing I do occasionally is after I let a couple of color build-ups dry (doesn't take long with acrylics), I take a damp paper towel and wipe over certain areas for a really cool effect. It reveals the paint underneath and blends the paints in a really cool way sometimes.
Thanks Steel and Ed! :)

Jeff O.: Thanks. It's straight out of the tube, and the reason is mentioned already. ;)

Ed Hall: Thanks Ed, but it's not ink. It's regular pencils you write with at school. :P I really should finish it yeah, I guess I'm not patient enough. Who knows what the future brings. ;)
