10D Package.... -
Well I have finally made a decision on the camera and package I'm getting.
Canon 10D
Tamron 28-74 F2.8 DI (44-120 Equiv.)
Tamron 17-35 F2.8-4 DI (27-56 Equiv.)
Tamron 70-300 F4-5.6 LD Macro 1:2 (112-480 Equiv.)
Sandisk Ultra II 1GB compact flash card
2 Year Ext. Warranty on the body
I will be ordering from Simons Camera in Montreal
It seems the 10D bodies are out of stock in Canada so it will be the 2nd week in April till they are back in stock.

I should mention that Canon Canada dropped the prices on the 10D by $200 and the Rebel $100 last week.
Sugested retail on the rebel body is now $1199cnd and the 10D is $1999 (I'm paying less than that).
The 1Ds was also dropped in price to $9999 from $10999. It is being replaced at Photokina in October though (probably the 10D as well).

And I got a deal any Scotsman would approve of. :grin2:
(I'm half Scottish/half English by decent, born English, now Canadian).
Steeldolphin always makes fun of me for the deals I get. Just in the last couple of weeks I got a Javascript book for $3.50 instead of $75, Cargo pants for $10 a pair and a rare book for $14 instead of $90.. all brand new.
:cheeky:
Warning: be prepared for lots pictures of cute little ferrets :duncan:

Steeldolphin always says that Americans brag about how much they pay while Canadians brag about how much they save.

I only make fun cause I can never find those deals...I guess If i see something and I like ti I want it right then I am toolazy to search around...so I pay whatever...I guess thats why I barely have a pot to piss in. :grin2:

This will be your longest week of your life!!!!!
I hated waiting for it to be shipped.
Finally when I got I was shaking like crazy and didn't know what to do.
It took like 30 minutes to snap out of it and take some pictures :)
I can't wait to see what you come up with.

Arrrgh
Camera body should arrive at the store tomorrow but the wide and standard zoom lenses are backordered another 2.5-4 weeks.
Now I have to decide if I want to spend an extra $130 on a 50mm F1.8 fixed lens so that I will definatly have a camera for a friends wedding in 2.5 weeks or if I just wait for the other lenses.

Well got my camera last night and everything seems to work fine. It is almost like a big relief as I have been anticipating and planning getting it for so long (2+ years) and now it is finally here.
Now I just have to get used to being able to take photos and not worrying about costs of film and processing.
All I'm missing is the wide angle lens, which will be another 2.5-3 weeks
:)

Yeah I know, I'm sorry
Lara had a bad day at work and between her bad mood and two ferrets trying thier best to get into boxes of styrofoam peanuts and packing materials I sort of had my hands full.
