Well, after about 2 hours work, I've finally come up with something totally original in the sense that it's from my OWN materials.
Going through a stack of old photos from my holidays away, I found some pics of shrines I took when I visited Japan about 2 years ago.
I don't know what you'll all think of this, I made the image in under 3 hours, I just hope it doesn't LOOK like a rush job to you. *L*

I bought myself a book today. Sun Tzu's The Art of War. It inspired me to make this. I wanted to put a quote or two from the book, but I guess that's what's going to happen next.
Oh yeah, after much grateful constructive crit from my last pic I put up on here, i've made the image larger than I'm used to.

Hope this meets to your approval.

The art of War is a great book. Now on to the crits:

I like your separation of the sky and water, its surreal and has a nice feel, however I dont think the greyscale palette swatches in the bottom right corner are helping the image. I would also reduce the glow around the arch thing, it seems muddy and out of place. The dragon symbol is cool but might work better if it was more subtle and faded, perhaps even set to overlay if its on its own layer..I dont know...something to play with anyways.

Other than that its quite interesting.

the sky texture is great it looks like paper. however i dont think the separation between the sky and water is smooth enough.

Very interresting indeed. I would like it more if you really tried to let the wooden structure out off the water. Agree with Steel on those paletteboxes.

I'll take each crit to heart and make sure to utilise your expertice to make my works better.

Yeah, its nice. But the palette boxes, while an interesting idea, distract from the image.
